Narrowleaf Yucca (Yucca angustissima)

Rosette of narrow green swordlike leaves with tall spike of white flowers.

NPS

You can see why Yucca are part of the Asparagus Family when it starts to bloom as its flower spike looks just like a spear of asparagus. The tall spikes sport dangling, waxy white with purple flowers which become oval fruit. The flowers, fruit, and seeds are edible and used by the park’s wildlife. The indigenous people of the region have also used Yucca for many things for millennia.
