Throwback Thursdays

Petrified Forest was set aside in 1906 as a national monument, upgraded to a national park in 1962. Over the years many photographs have been made of the park, some of the oldest from before the designation in the late 19th century. As cameras have drastically changed, it can be difficult to get a perfect fit, but you can compare changes occuring over the decades. These comparisons can also help us understand damage and disappearance of resources.
