Brief Statement
I think of landscape painting as a dance with place and time as my partners. It is a search for visual form that, I hope, may express the spirit of place and a sense of the present that looks both to the past and future. I'm drawn to those places that stir a sense of awe and the sublime while attempting to avoid the overly picturesque and sentimental. My ambition is to make paintings that are both contemporary and timeless.
