Plan A Field Trip

Organizing Your Educational Visit to Oregon Caves National Monument

Our education season runs from late March through the first Sunday in November. If you're interested in bringing your class to Oregon Caves for an educational experience, please download and review the Field Trip Packet (PDF, 988 KB). This document contains all the details you’ll need to register and plan a successful trip.

After thoroughly reading the packet, head over to the Registration Materials page to download the required fillable forms. These forms should be completed and emailed to the Education Coordinator to secure your visit.

Fee Waivers

Fee waivers are available for accredited educational groups such as university classes, science clubs, and other educational organizations not visiting during the regular education season. Details on fee waivers can be found in the Field Trip Packet or on the Registration Materials page.

Please ensure that all trip requirements, including the mandatory chaperones, are met before submitting your registration.

Arrival at Oregon Caves

When you arrive, the bus parking area is part of the public parking lot (refer to the parking map in your Field Trip Packet). Please keep your students on the bus until a park ranger arrives for a brief orientation, which will be given on the bus. The ranger will then organize your group and lead them to the Visitor Center.

Departure from Oregon Caves

The standard field trip schedule does not include time for gift shop visits. However, if your school allows extra time after ranger activities, students may visit the gift shop. For every four children, there must be at least one adult chaperone, and groups should rotate through the shop to avoid overcrowding.
