Join the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) and become an important member of a team of dedicated individuals who work to maintain the park. As a member of the Youth Conservation Corps you will personally have a role in protecting the nation's precious resources. The goal of the Youth Conservation Corps is to actively involve students in hands-on group and individual experiences that promote work ethics and develop an appreciation for the environment.
The 8-week summer program begins on June 3 through July 26, 2019. Young men and women, 15 through 18 years of age, who are permanent residents of the United States, may apply. During the term of employment, you must be at least 15 years of age and not have reached age 19. Enrollees will be paid the federal minimum wage for a 40-hour work week.
Students learn valuable skills and team work as they participate in this summer program which includes working on park trails to clear over grown vegetation, fallen trees and limbs from the corridor of the trail, and realign trail tread. YCC students will have many activities designed for them to further their education and will participate in a closing presentation to share their experiences.
