The Diablo Lake Trail suspension bridge is open for visitor use. The bridge was closed in mid-April to accommodate the replacement of structural elements and decking. Work on handrails will continue, but will not impede use.
The bridge spans the long arm of Diablo Lake that reaches the foot of Ross Dam and connects the 3.8 mile Diablo Lake Trail with the 1.0 mile Haul Road and the 0.8 mile Ross Dam Trail.
Access to the Diablo Lake Trail is free. The trail departs from the parking lot of the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center and offers dramatic views of the Diablo Lake Gorge and surrounding peaks. For those who may prefer to hike the trail one-way, Seattle City Light offers daily ferry service to the base of Ross Dam at 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The cost is $10 per person.
