VALENTINE, NE: Children and their families are invited to make free gifts for friends or relatives on Saturday, December 2nd at the Niobrara National Scenic River (NSR) Visitor Center. Kids’ Craft Day will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to create one of the many crafts provided or use their creativity to make their own craft from materials on hand.

Children may choose to make canoe ornaments, popsicle stick deer, pony bead beavers, and much more. The crafts range from easy to make to more advanced, so that a wide variety of ages can join in on the fun.

“Everyone knows that personal, handmade gifts from children are the best,” said Park Ranger Bobbie Pennington. “This event allows kids to use their creativity to make one.”

There are no fees for this activity; all supplies are provided by the National Park Service. The Niobrara NSR Visitor Center is located at 214 W. Highway 20, in Valentine, NE. For more information please call 402-376-1901.
