Glen Jean, West Virginia, July 16, 2015.There is still time to capture a snapshot of history and enter the 2015 Hidden History Photo Contest! This photo contest showcases the talents of West Virginia amateur photographers (adult and youth), while emphasizing the rich historical treasures found throughout southern West Virginia. The winning contest entries will be displayed online and at several public locations in September, including National Park Service and National Coal Heritage Area visitor centers and Tamarack. Prizes will be awarded.

Photo entry deadline:July 27, 2015. Complete contest rules and entry forms are found at the New River Gorge National River and National Coal Heritage Area websites,https://www.nps.gov/neri/planyourvisit/hidden-history-photo-contest.htm and http://www.coalheritage.org.

This photo contest is part of the area's annual Hidden History Weekend (September 25-27, 2015), which highlights the cultural significance of this region for visitors and locals alike.
