Glen Jean, WV — Hidden History Happenings is in full swing in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. Friday, September 27th through Sunday, September 29th, we invite you to join rangers in the largest events of Hidden History Happenings. Kick off the weekend with a haunted history hike, hearing legends and stories from Appalachia into the dark of night. Saturday Sept. 28th attend the largest event of Hidden History Happenings. Experience Appalachian traditions though song. Try your hand at the hammer dulcimer, learn about Appalachian instruments, and hear performances from several amazing local artists including Woodbine, Randy Gilkey, Long Point String Band, and Nathan Seldomridge. Sept. 29th explore traditional skills though hands on demonstrations on basket weaving, nature foraging, pioneer tasks, and heritage of national parks. Join illustrator Rosalie Haizlett in a watercolor painting workshop (limited slots, reservations required) and book signing.Hidden History Happenings heritage programs will continue through mid-October.

Some programs do require advanced reservations. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water for all guided hikes.
