Camp Brookside Environmental Education Center
The Camp Brookside Environmental Education Center is located in Brooks, West Virginia. This 32 acre island hosts a recently restored residential facility;complete with seven cabins, communal wash house, large mess hall and commercial kitchen. Camp Brookside can house groups of up to 38 for overnight stays in the spring through fall. Camp Brookside is available for short term leasing. Additional amenities include WIFI throughout the premises, access to a large library, some field study tools and a one mile hiking trail. Camp Brookside offers scenic views of the New River and Brooks Falls, a class three rapid.

This summer, the National Park Service and Active Southern West Virginia have teamed up to bring free, beginner-level programs to the New River Gorge region. Join us at Camp Brookside Environmental Education Center for stand up paddle boarding, yoga, tai chi, archery, fly fishing, cooking with diabetes, and guided hikes. All programs are free and open to the public. All equipment and supplies will be provided. Check the Ranger Programs page for a schedule of upcoming events.
