LEE COUNTY, MS: The Natchez Trace Parkway National Scenic Trail section between milepost 261.8 (Chickasaw Village Site) and milepost 265.5 (Beech Springs Road Area) will be closed to all trail users beginning February 9, 2015, for a period of 30 days. The closure is due to improvements to the railroad crossing where the National Scenic Trail crosses the track south of McCullough Boulevard. The trail section will be posted closed for public notice.

The trail section south of 261.8 at the Chickasaw Village Site will remain open.

The closure is necessary to ensure safety in the use of the trail. The trail is expected to reopen in March 2015, or when construction is completed.  The Parkway will provide updates when available.
