TUPELO, MS: The National Park Service is seeking public comment on the environmental assessment (EA) prepared for the proposed replacement of the Little Swan Creek Bridge in Lewis County, Tennessee at mile post 386.9. The bridge must be replaced in order to restore the original structural capacity of the bridge, to provide visitors with a safe and enjoyable experience, and to reduce maintenance requirements and costs. The EA has been prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act to provide a decision-making framework that analyzes alternatives to meet the project's purpose and need. In addition, the environmental assessment evaluates impacts to the parkway's natural and cultural resources and identifies measures to lessen the degree or extent of any impacts from the proposed project.
