The park's snake and turtle species have now been documented as a result of a year 2000 reptile study done in conjunction with the National Park Service Inventory and Monitoring Program. Of the four snake species observed, the Eastern Garter and Northern Water Snake were found in abundance while the Northern Ringneck and Eastern Milk had fewer sightings. The most frequently observed turtle species in the park is the Eastern Box Turtle. Other turtles present include the Eastern Painted, Snapping, Common Musk and the Wood Turtle which is listed as a threatened species in New Jersey.
