Environmental Factors

The variety, quantity and quality of Morristown National Historical Park's natural resources are in a dynamic state although the rate and level of individual change vary greatly from species to species.

Weather, climate change and other human-caused factors such as habitat modification and air and water pollution have and will continue to influence the park’s cultural landscapes.

Park staff, other government agencies and contracted scientists observe changes in environmental factors through water quality monitoring, recording deer population trends, and forest vegetation monitoring. This information can be utilized by park managers to try to understand patterns of change over time and assist with preserving park resources.
