SPRINGFIELD, IL: Lincoln Home National Historic Site will host a Black History Month Art Contest for grades kindergarten through high school. Submissions will be accepted from January 16 through February 12, 2023. Submissions will be displayed in the Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center from February 12 through March 12, 2023.
Entries should address the question, “What does black history mean to you?” Submissions will be split into three categories: kindergarten through fifth grade; sixth grade through eighth grade; and ninth grade through twelfth grade. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Winners will be contacted by February 24. There is no charge to participate in this contest.
Entries must be two-dimensional visual media, which includes photography, painting, collage, and drawing. All submissions must include a registration form which can be found on the park’s website and at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center.
