Spend a few personal minutes with Abraham and Mary as they prepare to leave their home for an uncertain future in Washington. The Lincolns reflect on their years in Springfield, the family they have gained and lost along the way, and the looming dread of war on the horizon. The train is waiting at the station, but are they truly ready to leave the house they have shared for 17 years? The play culminates in a heartfelt portrayal of Lincoln’s famous Farewell Address.
Abraham and Mary will be played by accomplished veteran actors Randy Duncan and Pam Brown. The play will be presented in the Lincoln Home Visitor Center, 426 S. 7th Street, on February 10 2023 at 5:30pm, and a second performance February 11 2023 at 6:00pm. The play runs approximately 20 minutes. Admission is free.
