SPRINGFIELD, IL: National Park Rangers Luecreasea Horne from Nicodemus National Historic Site in Kansas; Rich Condon from Reconstruction Era National Historical Park in South Carolina; and, Jorge Hernandez from Zion National Park in Utah will be in Springfield to present public programs on February 24 and 25, 2023 as part of Lincoln Home National Historic Site's Black History Month Guest Ranger Series.

On February 24, these visiting National Park Rangers will participate in a panel discussion hosted by the Springfield and Central Illinois African American History Museum, 1440 Monument Ave, Springfield, at 7:00 PM. This evening of conversation will be moderated by Dr. Brian Mitchell, Director of Research and Interpretation at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

Rangers Horne, Condon, and Hernandez will also present programs on topics connected to black history and their home National Parks in the Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center, 426 S. 7th St, Springfield, on February 25 at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM. At 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, Ranger Hernandez will screen his documentary film on the 29th Illinois United States Colored Troops.
