Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is accepting applications for the National Park Service Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program for the 2022 season. This summer, the YCC employees will learn new skills while working on a variety of conservation, heritage, and cultural projects.

The YCC program is a student-centered work-learn-earn program, which develops an understanding and appreciation of the Nation’s environment and heritage. Administered by the National Park Service, the program offers gainful summer employment to young people in a healthy and safe, outdoor atmosphere.

"Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial has been proud to work with local students in the Youth Conservation Corps program for over twenty years,” Facility Manager, Jim Teague said. “The program has proven to be a mutually beneficial relationship providing youth workers in national parks for the summer season allowing student employees to build new skills while learning about National Park Service operations and resource stewardship."

All applicants must be at least 15 years of age before June 6 and must not reach 19 years of age before July 29.

To apply, applications must be received no later than 4:00 p.m., April 29.  Up to six applicants will be selected for employment by a random drawing that will be held on May 2 at 3:15 p.m. in the Memorial Visitor Center.  YCC employees will earn $10.00 per hour. Applications are available on the park's website: https://www.nps.gov/libo/getinvolved/workwithus.htm. For more information, contact Kristi Brown at 812-489-0983.
