Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail to Resume Indoor Visitor Services

Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail will resume indoor visitor services at our visitor center in Omaha, Neb. July 1. Visitors are encouraged to recreate responsibly and follow current Centers for Disease Control COVID-19 guidance.

Omaha, Neb. – Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail will resume indoor visitor services at their visitor center in Omaha, Neb. starting July 1, consistent with the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Interior. All services will return to pre-pandemic levels, including issuance of the park passes, access to restroom facilities, and the reopening of Riverfront Books. Some exhibits will be modified or removed to reduce risks associated with COVID-19.

As outlined by the CDC, visitors who are not fully vaccinated (less than 2 weeks past your final dose) must continue to wear masks when indoors or in crowded outdoor areas in which six-feet social distancing cannot be maintained.

The visitor center will be open to the public Mondays through Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to check nps.gov/lecl prior to their visit to ensure the visitor center will be open during their planned trip.

Staff of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail encourage all visitors to maintain six-feet social distancing while visiting the visitor center facility, and ask that if you feel sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 that you please visit another day.
