Through the course of the Keller Ferry Marina houseboat dock replacement project National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process, the National Park Service (NPS) has decided to pursue the use of a categorical exclusion (CE, also known as a CatEx) instead of an environmental assessment (EA). During last year’s process of civic engagement and project assessment, the scope of this project has been adjusted and no longer reflects the need to complete an EA.
Under the CE process, the NPS will continue to evaluate and mitigate any potential environmental impacts and give consideration to all public comments received during the December 18, 2023, to January 31, 2024 civic engagement period. Future documents and information will be posted on the related Planning, Environment & Public Comment (PEPC) page for this project: ParkPlanning - Replace Houseboat Dock at Keller Ferry (nps.gov).
