Lake Clark National Park and Preserve welcomes all interested persons to participate in the development of its coastal management plan. The purpose of the plan is to improve visitor experiences at key coastal sites while protecting resources and responding to changing conditions.
This plan is needed to address a number of management issues including 1) Large increase in number of coastal visitors; 2) potential for human-bear conflicts and impacts to brown bears; 3) inadequate visitor facilities and amenities; 4) limited aviation guidelines; and 5) limited NPS presence on the coast.
Get Involved:
The National Park Service encourages all interested members of the public to play a role in outlining the park’s future by sharing their thoughts on key issues and potential management strategies to improve visitor experiences and protect park resources on the Lake Clark coastline. The project team will consider public input while developing the plan.
