     Calling all Junior Archeologists to celebrate National Jr. Ranger Day with the staff of Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on Saturday, April 24, 2010.  Children can participate in activities that include “Why is the Past Important?” and a Walk into History.  At completion of the activities, children will receive a Jr. Ranger patch, a 2010 Jr. Ranger Badge, and a certificate.

     Come and explore the archeology experience!   Acting Superintendent Maureen McGee-Ballinger encourages children to “Follow the Junior Ranger motto; Explore, Learn, and Protect, we invite all Junior Rangers to join us on Saturday and become Junior Archeologists”

     Children are invited to eat lunch with a ranger.  Hot dogs and drinks will be provided by the Knife River Indian Heritage Foundation.

     All the activities are free.  Park hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.  Knife River Indian Villages NHS is located ½ mile north of Stanton on County Road 37.  Join the staff and celebrate National Jr. Ranger Day.  For more information, you can call the park at (701) 745-3300.
