Skagway – Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park archeologists will conduct archeological excavations on lots along Broadway and Fourth Avenue (Block 27 lots 1 and 2) during the summer of 2017. The area being studied is the green space south and west of the Pantheon Saloon Complex including the native plant garden. Archeologists will be excavating test units to determine if there are intact archeological remains or structural remains related to the Hotel Seattle that occupied on the lot during the 1898 gold rush. |
