The PBS is looking for items having to do with America's National Parks in a lead up to the Fall 2009 debut of Ken Burn's new documentary series, The National Parks: America's Best Idea. PBS's hit series History Detectives is issuing a call for any National Park-related items with historical significance. The historic finds will be broadcast during the seventh season of History Detectives airing throughout summer 2009, with selected items' owners being interviewed nationally on PBS. This presents the opportunity for those curious about their National Park-related items to have them professionally investigated and evaluated. History Detectives is hosted by the four history detectives: Wesley Cowan, founder and owner of Cowan's Auctions, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio and internationally recognized expert in historic Americana; Elyse Luray, an appraiser, licensed auctioneer and historian of popular culture; Gwendolyn Wright, professor of architecture, planning and preservation and professor of history at Columbia University; and Tukufu Suberi, head of the sociology department and director of the Center for Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
