The National Park Service is now accepting applications for a temporary, full-time Park Guide through the Alaska local hire program. This position requires applicants to have lived for one full year in Bristol Bay.
Applicants must have some knowledge of the cultural and natural history of park resources, be at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver’s license.
The Park Guide staffs the interagency King Salmon Visitor Center from May through September. He or she handles questions about park resources, provides trip planning assistance, operates the register for the Alaska Geographic Association, and provides other visitor services as needed. Weekend and holiday work is required.
Application packages can be obtained from the park office at Building 603, 1000 Silver Street, King Salmon (across from SAVEC). Applications must be postmarked or turned in at the park office by 4:00 pm on Monday, March 20, 2017.
