Brooks Campground, which is a remote destination which accommodates visitors to the Brooks Camp Developed Area, is extremely popular and is open seasonally from May 1st-October 31st. Current campground fees have been in place since 2013. These proposed fee increases would make the park’s campground fees consistent with other public and private camping facilities. Reservations for 2023 open on January 5, 2023 and are obtained through Brooks Camp Permit, Katmai National Park & Preserve - Recreation.gov.
The proposed recreation fee changes for the Brooks Campground are listed below:
- Peak Season Rate (For the dates of June 1-September 17):
- Current 2022 fee: $12.00 per person/night
- Proposed 2023 fee: $18.00 per person/night
- Non-peak Season Rate (May1-May 30 and September 18-October 31):
- Current 2022 fee: $6.00 per person/night
- Proposed 2023 fee: $10.00 per person/night
