Park Ranger Margaret Speicher will present Acoustic Bat Monitoring in the Johnstown Flood National Memorial Lakebed on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Visitor Center. This free program will last approximately one hour.This program will discuss how bats use echolocation, the collection of passive acoustic data, and what species were detected from August to October 2021. A short demonstration of various ultrasonic bat detectors, used to record bat sounds, will take place outside.
