Come to the First Annual Hay Auction and Fall FestivalKimberly, Oregon – Teachers and Educators, bring your class or school to the first annual Hay Auction and Fall Festival on September 20, 2018 from noon - 3 pm. The event will take place on the lawn and near the corrals at the James Cant Ranch, in the Sheep Rock Unit of John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.
This event will start at noon with activities and games for all ages and grades. There will be a scavenger hunt with varied levels of difficulty and will be grade appropriate for participating groups. Other activities include lawn games such as beanbag toss and ring toss, craft making, and races. Participants can compete to win prizes!
Teachers, be sure students bring snacks or a picnic lunch to enjoy on the lawn. The hay auction will start at 2 pm, offering students the opportunity to observe an auction as the festival activities and games wind down.
“We are thrilled to host the first annual hay auction from hay grown in the historic agricultural fields at the Cant Ranch. We welcome and encourage local schools to participate in this fun celebration, honoring local culture,” said Superintendent Patrick Gamman.
