Isle Royale Reflection

"Upon walking the rocky path to the cabin I was filled with fond memories of my own family's summer vacations on the Thousand Islands in the St. Lawrence River. During my two week residency I spent the first 4 days with my husband and nine year old nephew watching him change from a boy to a young man in such a short time as he learned to quarter logs and build our fire, catch and cook trout, and learn canoe techniques. I delighted in this, and though sad to see them leave, I was ready to begin work on expressing the wild and remote land of Isle Royale."
