Philadelphia – Beginning August 1, 2021, all tickets for entering Independence Hall will be exclusively available online at www.recreation.gov or by phone 1-877-444-6777 (10 a.m. to midnight EST) for all tours, which run daily 9 a.m. through 4:45 p.m. Tickets are free and up to 9 tickets can be reserved per account. There is a $1.00 administrative fee to reserve each ticket.

Currently, tickets can be reserved through the end of 2021. We will also have “next day” tickets released on-line at 5 p.m. the day before for a tour the next day. Tickets for the next day will be available at recreation.gov on a first come, first served basis. Any tickets not booked will be available up until the time of the tour. Tickets can be printed in advance or shown on a mobile device for scanning at the time of entry. Ticket holders should arrive at security screening at 5th and Chestnut Streets 30 minutes before their tour time.

No tickets are required for touring Independence Hall on Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, December 24th and during most of the months of January and February. Tickets are required for Martin Luther King Jr. weekend (January 15-17, 2022) and for President’s Day weekend (February 19-21, 2022).

“Our goal is to improve every visitor’s experience,” explained Cynthia MacLeod, superintendent of Independence National Historical Park. “No one enjoys waiting in long lines for tickets and the pandemic showed us that social distancing is important and lines are a bad idea for people’s health as well as convenience. Mobile tickets are a 21st century convenience used in parks in the National Park Service across the nation and at many other attractions. With a mobile ticket, no one has to worry about leaving home without it. Instead of waiting in line for tickets, visitors will be able to visit other sites or shop at the Independence Visitor Center and watch an introductory film until it is time for their tour of Independence Hall” Anyone who needs special assistance can call the Help Center at (877) 444-6777 or contact the ranger at the Independence Visitor Center desk.
