News Release Date: June 21, 2013 "What Does it Mean? The Declaration of Independence as Political Rhetoric" will help participants explore the meaning of the Declaration of Independence.During this program, visitors will have a chance to learn about the political rhetoric in each section of the Declaration.Along with analyzing the text, visitors will get a chance to answer the question, what is true in the Declaration of Independence and what is simply an overstatement? June 29, 3 - 3:30 pm in the Second Bank of the United States. At "How We Celebrate," visitors will learn about the future John Adams envisioned for celebrations of our nation's Independence Day, the origin of "Yankee Doodle Dandy," and the history of other festive activities.June 30, 3 - 3:30 pm in the Second Bank of the United States. |
