Philadelphia – From hoopla to history, Independence National Historical Park has something for everyone this Fourth of July. For a complete listing of Freedom Week activities please click here. Want to learn more about the history of Independence Day? Check out these two interpretive programs on June 29 and June 30. Both programs are free and designed to entertain and educate visitors of all ages. They will be held in the Portrait Gallery in the Second Bank of the United States. At "How We Celebrate," visitors will learn about the future John Adams envisioned for celebrations of our nation's Independence Day, the origin of "Yankee Doodle Dandy," and the history of other festive activities.June 30, 3 - 3:30 pm in the Second Bank of the United States. |
