The Pacific Island Network is one of 32 Inventory & Monitoring Program networks of parks across the nation. Parks within the networks share similar geography, natural resources, and resource challenges.
The national park units in the tropical Pacific range from the relatively low-lying islands of Guam and Saipan—which lie across the International Date Line—to the verdant jagged peaks of American Samoa in the South Pacific, to the mountainous mid-Pacific islands of Hawai‘i.
