Visitor and Resource Protection Measures

TITLE 36 CFR § 1.5 (a)

Compendium of designations closures, permit requirements, and other restrictions imposed under discretionary authority by the Superintendent, Hot Springs National Park.

In accordance with regulations and the delegated authority provided in Title 36, Code of
Federal Regulations, Chapter 1, Parts 1 through 7, authorized by United States Code, Title 54, Section 100751, the following regulatory provisions are established for the proper management, protection, government and public use of the Gulpha Gorge Campground, Gulpha Gorge Day Use Area the Fordyce Visitor Center and public restrooms within Hot Springs National Park, under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service.

• Gulpha Gorge Campground is closed to camping and motor vehicles
• Gulpha Gorge Day Use Area is closed to motor vehicles
• Fordyce Visitor Center is closed
• Public Restrooms are closed

This temporary public use closure is in response to the guidance from the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and state health authorities announcing additional modifications to operations to support federal, state and local efforts to slow the spread of the of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

This closure will take effect April 3, 2020 at 12:00 pm and will remain in effect until further notice.
