One Room: Millions of Memories Film Festival

at Homestead National Monument of America

Join us for the One Room: Millions of Memories Film Festival Saturdays and Sundays in January and February of 2018, at 2:00 p.m., in the Homestead National Monument of America Education Center. This year’s film festival will kick-off on Saturday January 13 and will feature films that honor the history and stories of one room schools and show how education impacted communities.

The film festival will open with a showing of Days of the One Room Schoolhouse. This documentary explores the schools that once peppered the Midwestern states, with a focus on stories from Northwest and West Central Ohio, one of our Nation’s 30 Homesteading States. The film relates school history, how they changed over time, and what a typical school day was like through interviews with those who remember life in the one room schools. This film will screen Saturday, January 13, and Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Education Center at Homestead National Monument of America.
