BEATRICE, Neb. – Homestead National Historical Park’s 2024 Film Festival will feature films by Ken Burns. This year’s film festival will be held at the Education Center throughout the weekends of January.
The first film will be The Dust Bowl, a four-part documentary about prairie farms and how they were impacted and affected by the Great Depression. Parts one and two will show on January 6 and then be repeated on January 7 and parts three and four will show on January 13 and then be repeated on January 14 at the Education Center at 2 p.m.
The second film will be The American Buffalo, Ken Burn’s latest piece about the animal at the center of many prairie and Native American cultures. Part one will show on January 20 and 21 and part two will show on January 27 and 28 at the Education Center at 2 p.m.

Homestead National Historical Park is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free of charge.
