Celebrate the Tallgrass Prairie on Public Lands Day 2023
BEATRICE, Neb. – Join Homestead National Historical Park on September 23, 2023, at 1 p.m. to take part in the Nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort by helping to plant over 500 native prairie plants in the Native Plant Display Garden. Meet at the Education Center at 1 p.m. for a short introduction and to sign up as a volunteer.
Dress for the weather. Closed toed shoes, insect repellant, sunscreen and gloves are recommended. To ensure the park has enough equipment please let the park know if you are planning to attend by calling 402-223-3514 or email the park at e-mail us. However, if you decide at the last-minute feel free to just show up.
National Public Lands Day celebrates the connection between people and green space in their community, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages use of open space for education, recreation, and health benefits.
