BEATRICE, Neb. – Attention kids of all ages! Come to the Education Center at Homestead National Historical Park on Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m. and join us in a ranger-led activity as we discover many things about bats. Then join us as we build bat houses to encourage these cute misunderstood animals to nest in your yard and eat bugs. Take your bat house home, along with a Junior Ranger badge, and of course, the event is FREE!It’s not a bird, it’s not a plane… It’s a bat! Bats are mammals like humans, and when winter comes they hibernate or fly south when the bugs go away. Get ready because they are coming back for the spring and summer months. Join us on a hike, weather permitting, as we look at some places these mysterious, often misunderstood, animals call home. We hope to be outside, so come dressed for the weather!
For more information on available accommodations please contact Accessibility Coordinator, Amber Kirkendall at (402) 223-3514.
