The Pools of ‘Oheʻo in the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park will reopen on Thursday, December 6, 2018. The pools closed last year on January 3, 2017 when a rockslide resulted in a minor injury to a park visitor.

Water quality varies and violent flash floods or rock falls can occur in the stream at any time. Injuries and even deaths have occurred.

The Pools of ‘Ohe‘o are regarded by the Native Hawaiian people as sacred for ceremonial use. Please be respectful while visiting the pools.
