Haleakalā National Park’s 2019 Artist in Residence, astrophotographer Stan Honda, will hold a public night sky photography workshop on March 23, 2019 at 5 p.m. at the Headquarters Visitor Center in the Summit District of Haleakalā National Park (7,000 ft. elevation).
The New York-based photographer and photojournalist will be working in the park during a month long residency through a partnership between the National Park Service and the National Parks Arts Foundation. Honda’s work features natural landscapes, usually night time panoramas. The March 23 workshop will be appropriate for photographers of all skill levels.
The event is free to the public (park entrance fee or park pass is required to enter the park) and is sponsored in part with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Pre-registration is required. Call 808-572-4425 to register.
