Haleakalā National Park Resume Visitor Services Following End of Government Shutdown

Haleakala National Park resumes regular operations after the enactment of a continuing resolution. Visitor Centers in the Summit District and the Kipahulu District are open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. The Pools of ‘Oheʻo in the Kīpahulu District are open and are monitored for possible flash floods. The pools may be closed with little notice when flash flooding is imminent. All park interpretive and educational programs are offered. Reservations for the sunrise are required 3:00 am to 7:00 am. Visit www.recreation.gov to make your reservations.

Open in the Summit District

• Headquarters Visitor Center, at 7000 feet elevation
• Haleakalā Visitor Center, at 9741 feet elevation
• Permits are required for backcountry cabins. Refunds for permits during the lapse in appropriations period may be requested via www.recreation.gov.
• All Summit District roads and trails

• Hosmer Grove Campground
