Kula, Maui — On Friday, August 14, 2020, the National Park Service is premiering a new short park film online called Koa Talking to Me.

The film follows a Hawaiian man's love for this rare and threatened tree. Junior's connection with koa trees on his native island of Maui compels him to conserve and honor the spirit of fallen trees. His use of the trees connects him to one of the oldest Hawaiian traditions.

The film is available to stream at https://youtu.be/APPhWGFtsLs, the park website www.nps.gov/hale and is available to share across all Haleakalā National Park social media platforms.
