Salt Flat, Texas - Guadalupe Mountains National Park is proud to announce its new partnership with Western National Parks Association (WNPA). A nonprofit educational organization that currently supports 71 national park partners across the western region of the United States. A new expanded bookstore is planned within the Pine Springs Visitor Center and will be managed by WNPA. Expansion for the bookstore is planned to begin late November 2016. The new store will make available to the public for purchase educational items such as Junior Ranger materials, books, educational games, puzzles, plush toys, t-shirts, and much more. Unique craft items from the region will also be offered for sale. Well-established in Texas, WNPA currently represents 9 other national park partners in this state. They produce educational publications and develop meaningful products that help to share national parks culture and heritage. They also help parks develop activities that engage people in park experiences and support using technology to connect with new audiences. "WNPA has a 75 year history with the National Park Service. They have been successfully developing products and programs that enrich visitor experiences in parks and help connect them to our cultural resources and interpretive stories." said Superintendent Eric Brunnemann. "We are looking forward to working with WNPA staff and offering quality products to better inform and engage our park visitors." The grand opening for the bookstore is anticipated for mid-July, but the date has yet to be determined. For more information on WNPA visit their website at www.wnpa.org.
