Cat Island is partially owned and managed by the National Park Service. The island is accessible by private boat only, and is a great site for wildlife viewing, especially bird watching, swimming, and picnicking. Visitors may primitive camp on this island. There is no entrance fee for Mississippi Areas of the national seashore.
There are no lifeguards on duty on Cat Island.
