Gulf Breeze, Fla. – The National Park Service has released a Record of Decision (ROD) for the Gulf Islands Personal Watercraft (PWC) Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement.  The ROD, which was signed by the Regional Director of the Southeast Region, concludes the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process by selecting the preferred alternative (alternative D) in the Final EIS for implementation.

Implementation of the selected alternative requires revisions to the existing PWC regulation at Gulf Islands.  This process will begin by the publication of a proposed rule in fall 2019. The ROD can be viewed online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/guis-PWC-EIS.
