MOSCA, Colo. – Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve and the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area welcome visitors to experience the Hispanic culture of the San Luis Valley through a series of music and dance performances Friday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Great Sand Dunes Piñon Flats Amphitheater.

Performances will feature music and colorful dances connecting visitors with the Hispanic cultural heritage of the San Luis Valley. Featured performers include Mariachi San Luis, Los Vecinos Bailadores and Los Semillas de la Tierra.

Rooted in the vibrant musical traditions of Mexico, mariachi blends heartfelt vocals, bold harmonies and distinctive instruments to create an atmosphere of joy, pride and storytelling. Mariachi San Luis brings this treasured art form to life, sharing melodies that have echoed through generations across the American Southwest and beyond.

Los Vecinos Bailadores will perform partner dances that originated in Spain and have endured in the San Luis Valley. Audiences can look forward to watching couples perform several traditional dances, including the Broom Dance and La Marcha de los Novios.

Los Semillas de la Tierra, founded by Patsy and Herman Martinez in 1972 and now led by Domingo Estrada, will perform a variety of traditional dances in full costume representing regions across Mexico. Their performance brings a vibrant display of cultural pride and artistry.

This family-friendly event is free to attend; regular park entrance fees apply.
