Grand Canyon, Ariz. –Crews finished repairing a break in the Transcanyon Pipeline that occurred north of Phantom Ranch earlier this week. Drinking water is again available at Cottonwood Campground and Manzanita Rest Area (formerly Pumphouse Residence) on the North Kaibab Trail.
Pipeline breaks are not uncommon and can occur at any time. The National Park Service reminds visitors to carry water treatment methods at all times in the inner canyon. For more information about hiking smart in Grand Canyon National Park, visit https://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvist/hike-tips.htm.
