Grand Canyon, Ariz. – Grand Canyon National Park rangers will implement a selective sobriety checkpoint July 4th in an effort to assure the safety of park visitors and residents. The checkpoint will be at the junction of South Entrance Road and Center Road from 7 pm to 11 pm.

The National Park Service would like to remind everyone that the best way to enjoy the Fourth of July is safely. Please, drink responsibly;and if you do drink, don't drive. These checkpoints help contribute to a safe and enjoyable park experience for visitors and residents on this holiday weekend.

With the Fourth of July weekend quickly approaching, visitors and residents are also reminded that fireworks are prohibited within Grand Canyon National Park at all times.
