Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive closed August 9th through 20th due to construction

BAKER, NV- Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive will be closed past Upper Lehman Creek Campground, August 9^th through August 20^th with the exception of August 14^th and 15^th, due to construction. On August 14^th and 15^th, the Scenic Drive will be open to normal traffic.

This closure is part of the Reconstruct and Restore the Historic Wheeler Peak Campground Project, which will restore and reconstruct an existing 37 campsites in the alpine area of Great Basin National Park. This closure is to pave the campground road and conduct patch work in the Bristlecone Parking Lot. For the safety of all, the narrow and winding mountain road will be closed on weekdays to allow for construction trucks access to the work site.
