Diver Fatality on Glacier Bay's Outer Coast

BARTLETT COVE, AK 4:00PM AKDT -- Earlier today a diver died in the waters off the outer coast of Glacier Bay National Park, according to National Park Service (NPS) officials. The diver was working off a vessel operating under a research permit in Torch Bay, north of Cape Spencer. The U.S. Coast Guard and NPS officials are conducting a joint investigation of the incident. Information about the diver is not available pending notification of next of kin.
