These papers are respectfully forwarded through the regular military channels.
The claimant, Mrs. Nolan, has long been well known to me as the acknowledged wife of the late Major Nolan.

The children, Edward, by a former wife, and Elizabeth, by this claimant, are also known to me as the acknowledged children of said Major Nolan.
It seems to be that under all the circumstances this well merits being taken up as a special case.

The undersigned was present at the marriage of Annie Dryer to Nicholas Nolan, on the date and at the place, recited in the declaration and is aware that there was no legal barrier to the marriage. The applicant is worthy and reliable, and of high standing in the city of San Antonio, where she has been favorably well known for many years.

Respectfully forwarded to the Hon. Commissioner of Pensions.
I know that the late Major Nolan had one child through the former marriage, & one by the applicant, who is a reliable lady of limited means no sufficient for her support. The late Major Nolan was known to me for years, as of good character.
If action towards a speedy allowance of the pension can be had, it will be to the convenience of the widow of a worthy late officer.
